<p>Together we will learn and become more familiar with the workings of the mind and all that influence it. We will learn different methods of data collection, research and disorders of the brain. Psychology topics we’ll cover include Overview of Psychology &amp; Worldview, Nature vs. Nurture, Different Theories &amp; their Focus, Psychological Evaluation, Abnormal Psychology, and Biblical Critique of Personality Theories. This class is geared towards preparing our students to know themselves as made in the image of God and so to be more prepared to face their next chapter of life outside of CRICS.</p> <p>Psychology is an introductory course on the history and theories of human behavior. This course provides students the opportunity to explore psychology as the scientific study of mental processes and behavior. Areas of study include the Scientific Method, Development, Cognition, Personality, Assessment and Mental Health, and the Socio-Cultural and Biological Bases of Behavior. The students will explore historical and current theories to understand human behavior and mental processes including thoughts, emotions, beliefs and personality. Secular and Christian philosophies and significant theorists will be presented and critiqued.&nbsp;</p>
