Teacher Job Description
General Teacher Job Description
+Our mission at Chiang Rai International Christian School (CRICS) is to “serve the servant by providing quality, innovative, affordable, family-oriented English Christian Education.” Teachers and staff in a Christian school must be ever mindful that they instruct not only through formal explanation but even more powerfully through example and shared experience.
+A lifestyle not aligned with biblical standards of conduct is grounds for dismissal because it both violates the occupational qualification for volunteers to be Christian role models and hinders CRICS from fulfilling its mission. This agreement is not an exhaustive list, and we reserve the right to make institutional decisions (including hiring, placement, and retention) based on lifestyle decisions and behaviors that may hinder our mission as a Christian school.
+----------------------------
+As a teacher/volunteer/expatriate staff member at CRICS, I am called to prepare young men and women to live fully for God. In order to accomplish this mission, I acknowledge that I have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and I am committed to a lifestyle based on biblical standards of conduct.
+In cultivating a Christ-centered life:
+* Please note: An individual’s eligibility to serve as faculty or staff at CRICS is not impacted by being born intersex.
+CRICS staff have a duty to reduce or eliminate any conflict of interest between their assigned school duties and any other connection, relationship, business, or other activity involvement. No CRICS staff should exploit their role or information obtained in the course of their duties to further their own private interest. All CRICS staff have a duty to disclose any potential or apparent conflict of interest which may affect their ability to carry out their role.
+In keeping with the core values of biblical worldview and community, CRICS values both integrity in decision making and involvement of community members in various school roles (i.e., parent, teacher, staff, board member, volunteer). CRICS may hire relatives and spouses of other staff members provided they are approved through the appropriate application process. The goal is that no spouse will supervise the other in a school role, although exceptions may be made by the ELT.
+Many people in the CRICS community hold various roles with respect to the school community - parent, teacher, board member, administrator, department head, etc. Sometimes the best person for a particular role also holds other roles within the school community. The governing board (only for board members and head of school) and ELT carefully and prayerfully consider placements, also considering possible conflicts of interest. Healthy, God-honoring relationships include working relationships that recognize and respect the authority of various positions. Those holding multiple roles must be intentional about which “hat they are wearing” and must be cautious not to take advantage of power (perceived or otherwise) based on a certain role.
+There is also a conflict of interest policy specifically for board members in the bylaws of both the governing and legal boards.
+Thanks to Faith International Academy (Davao, Philippines) & Foundry Road Preschool UK for information supporting the creation of this policy.
The following holidays are generally observed, but the ELT may make changes annually depending on the local situation. All holidays are marked clearly in the CRICS Calendar (Google Calendar) which is on our crics.asia website in the CRICS Portal.
